Is blogging dead?

Over the last year I have fallen in love with Twitter.

I was never much of a blogger. I guess I just experimented with blogging as a sort of diary to help me remember where I was (in which continent!) at a particular time. The problem is, however, that it's all rather long and formal and requires time to actually write a semi-decent blog post. Also nobody is particularly interested in reading about your latest  holiday or other rubbish. It's public after all so you cannot even say anything too controversial.

So, as for remembering holidays and where I've globe-trotted off to, there's Flickr which is an excellent on-line service for storing and publishing digital photos. So no need to say 'I was here' when the photos themselves do the bidding. Ok, photos don't tell much about the experiences (such as eating Kenyan Roast Lamb in the middle of nowhere; climbing the tree-house at Gede; spotting your first Ostrich; climbing your first Volcano; or seeing your first bears in the wild) but they can at least tell you where you are, and it's up to your brain to do the rest. If it can't, well then you're fucked anyway.

So this will be my last blog post on this blog. I've deleted all the other crap. If I want to blog again, I will, but I'll try to leave out the meaningless drivel.

Cheers, A.
